Gillibrand Statement On Trump In Syracuse
Gillibrand Statement On Trump In Syracuse
Oct 9, 2026
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) issued the following statement on President Trump speaking in Syracuse tonight:
"Nothing Donald Trump says tonight can distract from his chaos, corruption, and cost increases hurting New Yorkers every single day.
"He and complicit Republicans in Washington promised to lower prices. Instead, they have made New Yorkers' groceries, healthcare, and every trip to work, school, and everything in between more expensive.
"New Yorkers need relief from record high prices this president has put on them, but all he seems to be focused on is bombs, ballrooms, and billionaires."
- Trump's policies have cost the average household in New York more than $5,500
- Trump has spent $1.8 billion+ of taxpayer money on vanity projects
- Trump and Republicans cut $63 billion in Medicaid funding for New York
- Trump and Republicans kicked more than 400,000 New Yorkers off their health care plans
- Trump eliminated a Medicare prescription drug subsidy program New York seniors rely on
