Scheduled Closures for Caldecott Tunnel Bore 1 on Eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24)

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of Bore 1 in the Caldecott Tunnel, located on eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24) in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. These closures are necessary to facilitate lighting upgrades and routine maintenance work. The scheduled closure times are from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and Thursday, April 2, 2026. Please note that all scheduled work is dependent on weather conditions and may be subject to change.

Bore #1 EB SR-24 Closures 10 PM to 4:30 AM

While this closure is in effect, all other bores in both directions will stay open.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
