Road closures announced for Iowa City Pride Festival

The City has announced road closures for the Iowa City Pride festival and parade on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Road closures will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday to allow festival vendors to set up. The following roads will be closed:

  • Washington Street from Gilbert Street to Clinton Street
  • Linn Street from Iowa Avenue to just south of the alleyway north of the Iowa City Public Library, southbound
  • Alley north of ICPL, westbound and eastbound

On-street parking will not be allowed:

  • 5 p.m. Friday, June 19: Linn Street from Washington Street to College Street
  • 6 a.m. Saturday, June 20: College Street from Van Buren Street to Dodge Street, Johnson Street from Washington Street to College Street, westbound Washington Street from Van Buren Street to Dodge Street, for parade staging
  • 6 a.m. Saturday, June 20: Washington Street from Clinton Street to Gilbert Street, Linn Street from Iowa Avenue to Washington Street

On-street parking around the staging area will be available after the parade, around 1 p.m. June 20. The other areas will not be open for parking until late evening June 20.

Parade Route

The Pride parade will begin at noon at College Green Park, and will use the following route:

  • North on Johnson Street, starting at College Green Park
  • West on Iowa Avenue
  • South on Clinton Street
  • East on Washington Street
  • South on Linn Street
  • East on College Street, ending at College Green Park

On-street parking along the parade route will not be allowed from 6 a.m. Saturday until after the parade ends, around 1 p.m. The exit to Clock Tower Parking Ramp will be closed at noon until the parade passes.
