Spread the Warmth: Library expands blanket drive to include pet food donations for Tyler Animal Services

The Tyler Public Library and Tyler Animal Services are teaming up until Friday, Dec. 5, to collect as many blankets and pet food donations as possible to help our furry friends stay warm, fed, and cared for this season.

In addition to fleece blankets, the Library will now accept donations of sealed dog and cat food to support the Pet Food Bank at the Tyler Animal Shelter. Established in 2015, the Pet Food Bank provides a safety net for families who may be struggling to feed their pets, helping keep animals in their homes rather than being surrendered to the shelter. Over the years, more than 15,000 pounds of food and litter have been distributed to local pet owners in need.

All donated items will be collected at the Library, located in front of the circulation desk, and delivered to the shelter by staff.

If you're ready to take it a step further and give a furry friend a forever home, visit the Tyler Animal Services webpage or call the shelter at (903) 535-0045.
