Public Consultation on Quantum Awareness and Preparedness

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is pleased to invite you to participate in a survey mapping awareness of local and regional authorities about Quantum technology and their readiness to adopt it.

The CoR commissioned a study request to its contractor, Progress Consulting S.r.l., for a foresight study on "The future and potential use of Quantum technology by local and regional authorities" that should analyse the state of play of early adoption of Quantum technology by public administrations at all levels, with focus on cities and regions, potential use cases of Quantum in the future, especially focusing on how subnational authorities may benefit from Quantum technology when providing services to citizens and implications of Quantum on digital resilience.

The present consultation will inform the work of the contractor on the foresight study and is addressed to policymakers actively engaging their local and regional authority (LRA) in the digital domain, or by LRAs' public officers in charge of digital transformation, cybersecurity, digital resilience, ICT infrastructure management, and/or information security. Contributions from any LRA in the EU 27 Member States, regardless of its current engagement within the quantum landscape, are welcome!
