Key takeaways

  • Kaiser Permanente is starting construction on its new Westminster Medical Offices, the most significant brick-and-mortar investment in the last 15 years.
  • The new facility adds outpatient surgery, robotic surgery, and urgent care to primary care, specialty care, pharmacy, lab services, and more.
  • The building is set to open in 2028.

DENVER - Kaiser Permanente broke ground on the new Kaiser Permanente Westminster Medical Offices - its most significant brick-and-mortar investment in Colorado since 2011. Leaders marked the milestone today with a ceremonial groundbreaking event.

The new Westminster facility will offer an outpatient surgery center and another urgent care for members in the North Denver metro area, plus primary and specialty care services.

That means Kaiser Permanente members could see their primary care team, get lab tests or prescriptions filled, get help for an urgent medical need, or receive outpatient surgery - all in one place with a connected care team.

"After 50 years of caring for communities in the North Denver metro area, these new medical offices are a major investment in current and future generations of members," said Cortney Eisses, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. "We're building on that commitment with a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet care needs ranging from a sore throat to a complex surgery."

A better experience for new levels of care

The upgraded Westminster Medical Offices will feature Kaiser Permanente's third outpatient surgery center, including robotic surgery, in the Denver metro area. Outpatient surgery can be safer and more convenient, and helps patients avoid a hospital stay.

"By adding outpatient and robotic surgery to these medical offices, we're making a higher level of advanced care easier for our members," said Greg Berman, MD, executive medical director of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. "For many people, these procedures can mean less pain, fewer complications, and a faster recovery with the comfort of going home the same day."

Urgent care will also add same-day, after-hours, and weekend care options for members. This will allow members to get questions answered without having to rely on an emergency room.

The Westminster location will become Kaiser Permanente's fifth urgent care, expanding members' access alongside a broad network of urgent care providers across Colorado.
