Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) will open a new advanced urgent care in Murrieta in spring 2027, providing more care options for a growing community. Murrieta is one of the fastest-growing regions in the nation, and that growth is increasing the need for medical care.
Jonathan Jean-Marie, MHA, FACHE, senior vice president for LLU Medical Center - Murrieta, said the advanced urgent care will give the community more options while helping preserve the hospital's emergency department capacity for the most critical cases.
"Murrieta is a growing community, and we're committed to growing alongside it. The advanced urgent care expands access to timely, high-quality care for patients who need more than a traditional urgent care setting may provide," Jean-Marie said. "By offering advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities in close coordination with the medical center, we can care for more patients in the right setting while preserving emergency department capacity for those who need the highest level of emergency care."
The advanced urgent care facility will be located at 35100 Makena Ave. in Murrieta, south of Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta (LLUMC-Murrieta). It will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Stephanie Scwarzebach, director of emergency services, and Lorena Esparza Garcia, manager of emergency services for the advanced urgent care, said the new location gives the community access to 24/7 advanced, non-emergent care with direct access to LLUMC-Murrieta.
"This new advanced urgent care will be able to treat illnesses and injuries that may need prompt attention but are not life-threatening," Esparza Garcia said. "Luckily, our emergency department right down the street allows for a continuity of care if a patient does need a higher level of care."
Care provided at the clinic will include 24/7 access to:
Diagnostic testing, including labs and X-ray
Fractures, sprains, and strains
Cold and flu symptoms
Urinary tract infection (UTI) and sexually transmitted infection (STI) treatment
Pink eye, allergies and asthma
Headaches
Ear, eye and throat pain
Wound and injury care
Laceration repair
Walk-in sports physicals
Flu shots
The advanced urgent care operates with emergency-trained physicians and clinical staff. While it will see all patients who seek care, it is not licensed or designated as an emergency room. For all life-threatening emergencies, dial 911.
