Oswego, NY - Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today released her comprehensive plan to secure America's Northern and Southern borders, support federal law enforcement, combat drug and human trafficking, enforce the nation's immigration laws, and protect American communities.
President Donald Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan have demonstrated that strong leadership and consistent enforcement can restore order at the border. Tenney's plan builds on that progress through three core priorities:
Drawing on her visits to both the Northern and Southern borders and conversations with frontline law enforcement officers, Tenney's plan calls for providing U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with the personnel, technology, and resources needed to stop illegal immigration and intercept fentanyl, weapons, and other contraband.
The plan also prioritizes stronger Northern Border security, greater cooperation among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, consequences for criminal illegal aliens, and accountability for sanctuary jurisdictions that obstruct federal immigration enforcement.
"Securing our border is one of the most basic responsibilities of the federal government, and President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan have shown that strong leadership and enforcement work," said Congresswoman Tenney. "I have visited both our Northern and Southern borders and heard directly from the men and women on the front lines about what they need to carry out their mission. We must give our Border Patrol and ICE agents the resources to stop illegal immigration, fentanyl, human trafficking, and dangerous criminals before they reach our communities. My Border Security Plan will build on the progress we have made, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the safety and security of the American people always come first."
