Meeting of the Interministerial Drone Assessment Cell

Following several reports concerning the potential presence of unidentified drones in Luxembourg airspace, the Interministerial Drone Assessment Cell convened to assess the situation. Following these meetings, the Prime Minister brought together the ministers and relevant authorities concerned.

The reports mainly concern an area located in the Medernach region.

At this stage, the information currently available does not allow any definitive conclusions to be drawn. The competent authorities are analysing all information collected and are continuing the necessary verification procedures, including in cooperation with their foreign partners.

As part of their prevention and vigilance mission, the authorities are taking appropriate follow-up and awareness-raising measures with the stakeholders concerned.

In accordance with the applicable government plan, adopted by the Government Council in March 2026, the Assessment Cell is responsible for centralising available information, monitoring developments in the situation, and assessing the potential consequences for the population and the national territory.

The Assessment Cell brings together representatives of the administrations and services responsible for security, territorial protection, and airspace surveillance.
