Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has won multiple accolades at Airline Economics' annual European Aviation 100 Awards and Sustainability Awards.
Airline Economics is a leading global finance and leasing publication for the aviation sector.
Its annual European Aviation 100 Awards recognise the year's most outstanding performers in the commercial aviation industry in the region.
Norton Rose Fulbright won European Law Firm of the Year in recognition of its extensive work on ground-breaking transactions throughout the year.
The firm also advised on Airline Economics' European Editor's Deal of the Year for Innovation which was awarded to an ECA-supported financing by Bank of China Limited, London Branch ("BoC"), and Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale ("Helaba") for GD Helicopter Finance Limited ("GDHF") for eight new Airbus Helicopters H160 helicopters. The H160 represents a major advancement in helicopter technology with its innovative design, reduced fuel consumption, and exceptional multi-mission capabilities. This was also the first H160 financing and delivery to the new Ireland-based helicopter lessor GDHF.
Separately, Norton Rose Fulbright was also recognised at Airline Economics' Sustainability Awards, which seek to recognise significant contributions to sustainable practice throughout aviation.
The firm advised on the Sustainability Aviation Editor's Deal of the Year which was awarded to LATAM Airlines Group S.A.'s US$300 million Sustainability-Linked Loan with Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank and BNP Paribas. This was a US$300 million facility secured by LATAM's spare engines, which included a sustainability component allowing for price adjustments based on certain metrics.
Norton Rose Fulbright's Global Head of Banking and Finance and Head of Paris George Paterson attended the awards gala alongside partner Alexandra Somerset and received the awards on behalf of the firm.
George, who also heads the Paris aviation team, commented:
