The University of Toledo joined the city of Toledo and Veo in launching electric scooter season during an event on Centennial Mall on Monday, March 9.
Veo is the micromobility company that supports a fleet of nearly 200 standing and seated scooters available across campus. Riders can rent the scooters using a smartphone app, then pilot them across campus or across town.
UToledo President James Holloway joined Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, as well as Toledo City Council members and Veo representatives, to discuss the scooters as a convenient, affordable and sustainable mode of transportation and encourage riders to partake responsibly. They also took a spin around Centennial Mall.
"Veo provides our students and campus community with a flexible and affordable way to get around campus and Toledo quickly, and with reduced carbon emissions relative to a car," Holloway said. "We are proud to partner with the city and Veo. Every time we deepen our integration with Toledo, we make both the University and the city stronger."
Riders can get a $5 discount to start the scooter season by using the code SPRING26.
