NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (June 24, 2026) - Mayor Jim Cahill joined international dignitaries and regional leaders on June 15th at the Senegal Business Summit to advocate for global economic partnerships.
Speaking at the opening ceremony at Rutgers University's Livingston Student Center, Mayor Cahill emphasized New Brunswick's role as an innovation hub driven by its healthcare institutions, arts community, and higher education.
"We know that when universities, businesses, governments, and communities work together, great things can happen," Cahill said. "Gatherings like this provide an opportunity to explore new ideas, develop meaningful relationships, and identify ways we can support economic growth and innovation together."
The summit drew a large delegation of Senegalese officials alongside state and local business partners. Notable attendees included Rutgers Chancellor Francine Conway and City Council Vice President Petra Gaskins.
The event focused on building strategic relationships between New Jersey and the West African nation to support collaborative innovation.
