The University of Toledo College of Law will celebrate 82 graduates at a commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 10, at 1 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Auditorium. The ceremony will recognize graduates from the J.D. and M.L.W. programs who completed their degrees in December 2025, May 2026 and August 2026.
No tickets are required for guests. A reception will follow at the Law Center.
Brian Goldberg, a 1985 Toledo Law graduate who has built a distinguished career as a Major League Baseball player agent, is the College of Law's commencement speaker.
This year's ceremony will feature remarks from alumnus Brian Goldberg, a 1985 Toledo Law graduate who has built a distinguished career as a Major League Baseball player agent. A Cincinnati native and graduate of Walnut Hills High School, Goldberg earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Cincinnati in 1982 before going on to earn his Juris Doctorate from The University of Toledo College of Law in 1985.
After passing the Ohio Bar Exam, Goldberg began his legal career specializing in creditor's rights before pivoting to baseball player contract representation - a field in which he would make his mark almost immediately.
In 1987, he began representing Ken Griffey Jr., the No. 1 overall pick in that year's MLB Draft, a relationship made possible in part through a friendship Goldberg had developed years earlier with Griffey's father, Ken Griffey Sr., during his time at the University of Cincinnati. Goldberg has continued to represent the Hall of Famer in post-playing career endorsements and business ventures.
Over the course of his career, Goldberg has represented numerous Major League Baseball players and maintains an active client roster today. He has been married to his wife, Robin, for 34 years, and the couple has two children.
For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the ceremony will be available on the law commencement page, along with other helpful information.
