Troops deployed for rescue missions after earthquake in Qinghai

Xining, June 17 -- A 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit the Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province at 17: 06 PM on June 16, 2026. The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Qinghai Military Command and the Chinese Armed Police Force (PAP) Qinghai Corps immediately deployed troops for rescue missions, including searching for the missing personnel, ruling out disaster risks, and settling the residents in quake-hit areas.
