Traffic Shift Scheduled for Week of March 16
A new traffic pattern is expected to take effect next week, weather permitting, along Custer Parkway between Fall Creek Drive and White Cliff Drive, as part of the ongoing Custer Parkway Reconstruction Project.
Beginning Monday, March 16, or as soon as weather and other conditions allow, traffic patterns are scheduled to shift to newly constructed northbound lanes on the east side of the road. One lane will remain open in each direction during this phase of construction. Bike lanes will remain closed, and on-street parking will continue to be prohibited within the construction zone.
Since May 2025, traffic has been traveling in the southbound lanes while crews worked to complete the opposite side of the roadway, including utility replacements.
Intersection Closure at Cap Rock Drive and Custer Parkway
Pavement replacement work at the intersection of Cap Rock Drive and Custer Parkway will be taking place beginning March 16. The northbound lanes of Custer Parkway, the east half of the intersection, will be closed to traffic and no thru traffic will be allowed to the east side of Cap Rock Drive/Custer Parkway. Traffic will be diverted to southbound Custer Parkway, to eastbound Campbell Road to Cap Rock Drive.
The west side of Cap Rock Drive will remain open, and Custer Parkway will remain with one lane of traffic in each direction (northbound and southbound). This work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
