Colorado Democrats Congratulate Amanda Gonzalez on Election as Secretary of State

DENVER - The Colorado Democratic Party congratulates Amanda Gonzalez on her election as Colorado's next secretary of state.

Secretary-elect Gonzalez brings firsthand experience running elections as Jefferson County clerk and recorder, along with years of work as an election attorney and voting rights advocate. Her campaign focused on protecting Colorado's mail ballot system, keeping elections secure and making government more transparent. She has also called for improvements that would make it easier for Coloradans to see who is spending money to influence their elections.

"Secretary-elect Gonzalez knows the work behind making sure every ballot is counted safely and accurately, and she understands how much public trust depends on doing the work of government well," said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib.
