Computerized Traffic Signal System on Route 99 in Rocky Hill to Route 314 in Wethersfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcinglane closures for replacements of the Computerized Traffic Signal System (CTSS) on Route 99 in Rocky Hill to Route 314 in Wethersfield. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, October 6, 2025, and be completed on Friday, November 20, 2026. The project 0118-0187 consists of the construction of traffic signal foundations, traffic signal detection, mast arm structures, pedestrian safety enhancements, installation of fiber optic interconnect, replacement of existing communications systems, and utility relocations.

CTDOT Project No. 0118-0187 was awarded to Ferguson Electric Co., Inc. at a cost of $8,148,000.00 on 11/13/24 and is scheduled to be completed 11/20/26. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be alternating lane closures on Route 99 in Rocky Hill and Wethersfield from Parsonage Street to Route 314/Jordan Lane from Monday, October 6, 2025, through Friday, November 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control signing patterns, flaggers, and Local Police will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
