Congressman Cohen Announces $1.8 Million in NIH Grants to St. Jude

WASHINGTON - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will receive three National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants totaling $1,882,804. Two of the grants, from the National Cancer Institute, will fund projects supported by the 21^st Century Cures Act, authorizing what's referred to as the Beau Biden Moonshot. Congressman Cohen voted for the legislation in 2016.

A third NIH grant, from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will support research on enhanced T-cell function.

Congressman Cohen announced five NIH grants totaling $2,657,819 on Monday.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I was pleased to support the 21^st Century Cures Act and the research it authorizes and am glad to see some of that work is being done at St. Jude, our premiere children's cancer hospital. I commend all involved in these life-saving efforts."
