Where to Find the Six Seward Johnson Sculptures



NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (June 10, 2026) - The lifelike works of renowned sculptor and New Brunswick native Seward Johnson have returned to New Brunswick's downtown.

Six of Johnson's signature bronze figures, depicting everyday people engaged in ordinary activities, are on display along the George Street corridor through Nov. 30.

Johnson, a visionary artist and philanthropist who passed away in March 2020 at age 89, founded The Seward Johnson Atelier in Hamilton and the 42-acre Grounds For Sculpture.

  • Who's In Charge: A playful, open-ended scene of familiar everyday life at Liberty Square Park, 150 Neilson St.
  • Elemental: A couple caught outdoors on a blustery, stormy summer day at 7 Livingston Ave.
  • The Gardener: A person tending to a garden plot at Monument Square Park, 2 Livingston Ave.
  • The Photo Session: A figure posed as if taking or posing for a photograph at 344 George St.
