Secretary-General of ASEAN Attends Welcoming Reception for the newly-appointed United States Ambassador to ASEAN

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, this evening attended the welcoming reception for the newly appointed United States Ambassador to ASEAN, H.E. Kevin Kim, at the Residence of the United States Ambassador to ASEAN, in Jakarta. In his remarks, Dr. Kao welcomed Ambassador Kim and underscored that his appointment reflects the United States enduring commitment to ASEAN at a pivotal moment in ASEAN-United States relations, as both sides prepare to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-United States Dialogue Relations and the 5th Anniversary of the ASEAN-United States Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2027. Dr. Kao also led a toast in honour of Ambassador Kim and reaffirmed ASEAN's commitment to working closely with the United States to advance shared priorities, further strengthen the ASEAN-United States Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and deliver tangible benefits to the combined one billion people of ASEAN and the United States.
