Live Cattle futures saw volatility jump to highest level since 2021.

Livestock futures posted a mixed finish Friday, with Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle rallying on the session but closing with significant weekly losses around 3.6% each. December Live Cattle futures gained $2.57 to $213.35, while Feeder Cattle gained $3.97 to $319.57. December Lean Hog futures trimmed weekly losses to $1.87 after gaining $0.42 on the day. Slaughter was reported at 456,000 head for the week, below year-ago levels. Volatility for Live Cattle futures jumped to its highest level since 2021 amid uncertainty regarding administration efforts to lower consumer beef prices.
