Job Description
Successful candidates will be tasked with teaching and researching in the field of Infrastructure Engineering, particularly in Creative Design Engineering for Structural Systems.
This includes developing innovative structural systems, design theories, and maintenance technologies by exploring new functions essential for future social infrastructure.
The successful candidate is also expected to carry out advanced experimental or analytical evaluations that consider the degradation of materials and structural performance, and to contribute to administrative duties within the department.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Tohoku University focuses on the planning, design, and construction of critical infrastructure, including bridges, highways, transportation systems, and water supply. Research areas include environmental engineering, urban planning, infrastructure design, and disaster control, utilizing physical, chemical, and biological processes to address environmental issues. Numerical simulations and analytical mechanics are applied to solve challenges in structural and materials design.
