January 16, 2026 Albuquerque, NM - Chairwoman Barela responds to Albuquerque Journal on President Trump's comments on New Mexico's elections: "President Trump's comments today were totally valid, and it's easy to see why anyone would feel the same way. Our Secretary of State, Maggie Toulouse Oliver, can't even comply with the most basic federal election integrity laws we have in this country. That should terrify every New Mexican, despite their party affiliation. At a time when confidence in our electoral process is at an all-time low, Toulouse Oliver, like each one of her Democratic peers, is putting politics over the people of New Mexico - and people are tired of it." - Chairwoman Barela ### |
