Suspect in Injury Shooting in February Arrested, Charged with Attempted Murder

A suspect in the February injury shooting of a man in the Parkrose Heights Neighborhood has been arrested and is in jail facing attempted murder and other crimes.

On Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 9:55 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a report that a shooting victim was in the area of Northeast 111th Avenue and Northeast Weidler Street (case number 26-42619). They found an adult male with a serious injury to his foot from a gunshot. An officer applied a tourniquet to control bleeding, and paramedics transported him to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim had been shot following a disturbance at Northeast 122nd Avenue and East Burnside Street in the Hazelwood Neighborhood. The suspect left the scene and was not initially located. Detectives with the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) did follow-up investigation and identified Diondray J. Jackson, 44, of Portland, as a suspect.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) worked with ECST to arrest Jackson in the Argay Terrace Neighborhood. A handgun was seized as evidence.

Jackson was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree (2 counts), Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The investigation is continuing.
