March 26, 2026 - The City of Encinitas will hold its 15th annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hawk View Park, located at 1309 Blue Heron Ave in Encinitas.
Community members are invited to take part in a morning of tree planting, environmental education, and family-friendly activities. Encinitas residents will help plant more than 50 native trees throughout Hawk View Park and surrounding area, supporting the City's ongoing efforts to expand and care for its urban forest.
This event upholds the City's continued recognition as a Tree City USA and its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
In addition to tree planting, attendees can visit educational booths and participate in hands-on activities focused on conservation and urban forestry. Families will also have the opportunity to explore Healthy Day Partners (HDP) Straight 2 the Plate (S2TP) Mobile Garden Classroom and take home an activity kit, available while supplies last.
As part of the celebration, the City is partnering with HDP's Homegrown Hunger Relief program to collect fresh, homegrown, or farm-fresh produce for community members in need. Attendees are encouraged to bring their extra fruits, vegetables, and herbs to the Homegrown Hunger Relief donation stations located around Hawk View Park. All donated produce will be delivered directly to the Community Resource Center Food and Nutrition Pantry to support local families.
Planting participants are asked to wear closed-toed shoes and hats and will need to sign a waiver. This is a free community-driven event. If you plan on attending, please fill out the participant registration interest form at https://www.encinitasca.gov/ArborDay.
