ACE, Second Nature Launch Sustainability Webinar Series

Section 1 Content

Registration now open for inaugural webinar

Shifting policies. New pressures. Emerging technologies. It's a critical moment in the evolution of campus climate and sustainability efforts.

To help higher education leaders make sense of this rapidly changing landscape, ACE and Second Nature are launching a webinar series designed to help campus leaders, sustainability staff, and climate advocates anticipate challenges and identify opportunities to lead.
The series-Charting Opportunities and Challenges in Higher Education's Climate Action Journey-will explore how colleges and universities can continue to lead on climate action by advancing clean energy, equity, and innovation while preparing students for a changing world.

The inaugural webinar, Looking Ahead: What's Next for Campus Climate Leadership, will set the stage for the conversations to come. The session will highlight emerging trends, share institutional perspectives, and discuss how higher education can sustain momentum amid shifting political and policy conditions.

The webinar, to be held Nov. 18 at 2:00 p.m. ET, will feature:

  • Gregory Washington, president, George Mason University
  • Bob Kopp, distinguished professor, Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences, Rutgers University
  • Tim Carter, president, Second Nature
  • Marisol Morales, executive director, Carnegie Elective Classifications
  • Lande Ajose, managing director, Waverley Street Foundation

Future webinars in the series, including one in December and several in 2026, will examine key topics such as workforce development, climate justice and community engagement, and lessons learned from the Inflation Reduction Act.
