Late Fees Increase December 23 for Unpaid 2025 Rental Registry Fees

PASADENA, Calif - The City of Pasadena Rent Stabilization Department (RSD) reminds landlords that the deadline to complete the 2025 Rental Registration and pay the annual rental registration fee was October 31, 2025. Landlords who have not completed registration and paid their invoice have accrued late fees and may face increasing penalties.

Beginning Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the late fee will increase to 30% for unpaid registration, adding an additional $71.40 per unit on top of the $238.00 per-unit rental registration fee.

After the one-week grace period that ended November 7, 2025, late fees apply as follows:

Days Late Late Period Percentage Fee per Unit

8-45 Days November 8-December 22, 2025 15% $35.70

46-90 Days December 23-February 5, 2026 30% $71.40

91+ Days February 6, 2026, and after 50% $119.00

RSD urges landlords to register and pay as soon as possible to avoid additional penalties and ensure compliance with Pasadena's annual rental registration requirements.
