City Manager Shawn Sherrouse Appoints Longtime Team Member and Former Airport Intern Adam Lunn as Interim Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport
LAKELAND, FL (June 15, 2026) | Lakeland City Manager Shawn Sherrouse is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Lunn, C.M., ACE, as Interim Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport (LLIA), effective Sunday, June 14. Adam Lunn began his career as an intern at LLIA more than 15 years ago.
"Adam will serve as Interim Airport Director while City Management and airport leadership evaluate the strong potential for his permanent appointment to the position. I am confident that he will continue to provide the exceptional leadership and professionalism that have defined his career with the City", said City Manager Shawn Sherrouse.
Since joining the LLIA team in 2011, Adam has served in several roles, helping support the airport's growth while building strong relationships across the organization and aviation community. Most recently, he served as Assistant Airport Director.
"Adam Lunn's expertise and dedication have been instrumental to the success of Lakeland Linder International Airport over the past 15 years," said City Manager Shawn Sherrouse. "During his four years as Assistant Director, he has played a vital role in the airport's financial and operational management, helping position the airport as a respected leader in the aviation industry."
Known for his collaborative leadership style, and commitment to the airport's mission, Adam expressed his gratitude for this opportunity to serve.
"I am both humbled and excited by this opportunity to serve as the Interim Airport Director for Lakeland Linder International Airport," Adam said. "As one of the nation's fastest growing and most dynamic airports, our team is ready to continue its mission of providing a safe and reliable airfield for our tenants, users, and the flying public. Most of all, I'm grateful to our teams past and present that have worked so hard to build the airport into what it is today and to City Manager Shawn Sherrouse for his belief in me and trust during this transitional period."
Adam brings an impressive combination of experience, education, and industry expertise to the role. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Florida Southern College and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of South Florida. He is also a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives, an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in Operations, and holds both FAA Private Pilot and Remote Pilot certifications.
