HILLSBORO, Ore- On August 6, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Erwin sentenced Giovanni Aguilar-Becerra, age 22, to 95 months in prison. This sentencing follows a jury trial in which the defendant was convicted of sexual abuse in the first degree and sexual abuse in the second degree (five counts). Senior Deputy District Attorney Chris Lewman prosecuted this case.

The defendant sexually abused three minors. Authorities first learned of his criminal behavior in November of 2023 when one of the victims disclosed the abuse to a school counselor. The victim told law enforcement that the defendant provided her with alcohol and marijuana and sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated.

During the course of the investigation, authorities identified a second minor victim who reported similar behavior by the defendant, wherein he sexually assaulted her while she slept. The investigation revealed a third underage victim whom the defendant dated for a period of time before police learned of his ongoing sexual relationship. When confronted with these allegations, the defendant admitted to engaging in sexual activity with all three victims.

The Washington County District Attorney's Office commends the victims in this case for their bravery throughout the legal process. This office also acknowledges the work of the Forest Grove Police Department.

The defendant will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
