Faculty Artist Spotlight: Toby Buonagurio and Martin Levine at Zuccaire Gallery

Faculty Artist Spotlight: Toby Buonagurio and Martin Levine, an exhibition at Staller Center's Zuccaire Gallery, features more than 40 works of ceramic sculpture, printmaking, drawing and painting from two Stony Brook University professors of studio art.

A ceramicist, Professor Buonagurio has been teaching at Stony Brook for 50 years. Embracing whimsy and popular culture, her vibrant ceramic sculpture has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan and Macao, and has been acquired by several important collections.

Professor Levine, recently retired after teaching for 39 years and now a John S. Toll Professor, creates intricate prints, primarily in etching and lithography, depicting realistically rendered cityscapes. His work has been shown in numerous international exhibitions and is in many significant public and private collections.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 5, from 5 pm to 7 pm, which is free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on view through February 26.

The Zuccaire Gallery is open Monday through Friday, from 12 pm to 4 pm, and evenings of Staller Center performances and films.
