Meeting with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress

In Beijing, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with Honorable Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, called parliamentary diplomacy "one of the effective means of strengthening and expanding political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation," and emphasized: "We support the fruitful continuation of inter-parliamentary relations in accordance with the common interests of the two countries."

The development and expansion of inter-parliamentary relations was also praised as "a solid foundation for a comprehensive strategic partnership between Tajikistan and China in the new era."

Emomali Rahmon welcomed the establishment and commencement of the Tajikistan-China Inter-Parliamentary Commission, the first meeting of which was held in Beijing in November 2025.

Further, the parties discussed the exchange of experience in parliamentary activities, including improving legislation and adapting it to modern requirements, supporting innovation, implementing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and transitioning to green energy and industry, as well as developing ties in the cultural and humanitarian spheres and other areas of mutual interest.
