During his state visit to the People's Republic of China, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in Beijing with the Premier of the State Council of this friendly country, Honorable Li Qiang.
Emomali Rahmon emphasized that "China remains a friendly country, a good neighbor, and a reliable strategic partner for us."
As noted, in 2025, trade between the two countries increased by almost 46 percent compared to 2024, and Chinese investment in the Tajik economy from 2007 to 2024 reached almost USD 6 billion, the majority of which was direct investment.
The effective operation of more than 700 companies with Chinese capital was cited as a clear example of the high level of trust between the business communities of the two countries. It was noted that Chinese investment in various industrial sectors, including mining, energy, transport, construction, and agriculture, is showing a growing trend.
It was stressed that Tajikistan is also interested in attracting Chinese capital for projects and programs in the areas of digitalization, artificial intelligence, modern technologies, green economy development, energy, and industry.
A fruitful exchange of views took place on the continued implementation of major projects in Tajikistan's real economic sectors, such as energy, road construction, industry, and agriculture, as well as ways to increase Tajik agricultural and agro-industrial exports to the Chinese market, the creation of an innovative scientific and technical agropark between the two countries in Tajikistan, and other issues of mutual interest.
