Peoria County Seeks Public Input on Draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan

Peoria County is inviting the public to review and comment on its draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Residents are encouraged to attend an open house or submit comments online through June 2026.

A comprehensive plan is a long-term guide that expresses the values and aspirations of a community. It is the broadest public policy document a community can create for future physical development considering the input of residents, businesses, and other stakeholders. The plan is a tool to prepare for change and acts as a guidebook for decision-makers.

The draft plan was created based on input from previous public comments and stakeholder input starting in 2025. We are now in the second round of plan development. The final plan is expected to be adopted by the Peoria County Board later this year.
