On 8 June, bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Azerbaijan took place in Vilnius. During the consultations, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Audra Plepytė, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Fariz Rzayev, discussed bilateral relations, prospects for strengthening political, security, economic, cultural, and educational ties between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, as well as relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan and cooperation within international organisations.

On 8 June, bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Azerbaijan took place in Vilnius. During the consultations, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Audra Plepytė, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Fariz Rzayev, discussed bilateral relations, prospects for strengthening political, security, economic, cultural, and educational ties between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, as well as relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan and cooperation within international organisations.

The participants in the meeting also exchanged views on geopolitical challenges, the situation in the South Caucasus and Europe, and Azerbaijan's role in the region. Vice-Minister Plepytė welcomed the progress in the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process and the emerging cooperation between the neighbouring nations, and expressed hope that the peace agreement, which will help establish stability and lasting, sustainable peace in the region, will be signed in the near future.

Vice-Minister Plepytė appreciated Azerbaijan's contribution to supporting Ukraine in the field of energy and emphasized that consistent and long-term support for Ukraine is necessary both to defend Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and to ensure European security and stability.
