JNC Recommends Three Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States three candidates for a judicial vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by resignation of Judge Maurice A. Ross. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.

The candidates are Judge Sherri M. Beatty-Arthur, who has served as a magistrate judge on the Superior Court since 2020; Fernando Campoamor-Sánchez, an experienced trial lawyer with a distinguished career in public service and private practice; and Bernard M. Desrosiers, who is acting chief of staff and assistant general counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, United States Parole Commission. Learn more about the candidates here.
