This program provides a temporary 30-yard dumpster to neighborhoods that border the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). Green waste includes leaves, brush, small branches, and other vegetation that can contribute to wildfire risk.
An online interest form is still available for residents interested in having a dumpster in their area. Residents must live within the WUI to be considered. Submitting an interest form does not guarantee placement of a dumpster in your neighborhood, but alerts RFD of areas in need.
Locations were determined based on resident input from a recent survey, helping RFD select sites with the greatest need. RFD has partnered with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) to place dumpsters in as many WUI neighborhoods as possible, since the WUI spans both City and county jurisdictions.
