Firm culture: how social norms affect gender bias in hiring in online labor markets

Abstract

The authors used new data from the largest online job platform in Nigeria and found significant differences in the hiring outcomes of female applicants.

This research is part of the G2LM Gender, Growth and Labour Markets in Low-Income Countries programme.
