Cary, NC - The Town of Cary has released its FY 2026 Second Quarter Report to Council, offering a comprehensive overview of projects, services, and financial activity from October through December.
Second-quarter highlights include:
Published four times a year for nearly a decade, the Quarterly Report serves as a public-facing update to the Cary Town Council and residents. It highlights major initiatives and milestones across departments and includes financial summaries that reflect Cary's fiscal position at the midpoint of the fiscal year.
The report is organized around Cary's long-range planning framework and focuses on efforts with the greatest community impact, including infrastructure investments, public safety, transportation, parks and events, sustainability initiatives, and organizational services. Financial sections summarize revenues, expenditures, capital activity, and fund balance trends to support transparency and informed decision-making.
Unlike weekly or monthly updates, the Quarterly Report looks back on completed work and meaningful progress over a defined period, providing context on how individual projects and programs advance Cary's long-term goals.
"We started these reports about eight years ago to keep everyone informed and support regular, ongoing conversation. They are meant to provide a clear look at our operational activities, key initiatives, and major financial trends," said Interim Town Manager Russ Overton.
The full FY 2026 Second Quarter Quarterly Report is available at carync.gov/quarterly. Printed copies are provided to the Cary Town Council in advance of the quarterly council meetings, including the Council/Staff Annual Retreat.
Residents are encouraged to review the report to learn more about how Cary continues to serve the community and plan for the future.
