Long Beach, CA - This summer, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) will once again offer the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) Dodgers Dreamteam program for local underserved youth. Rooted in baseball and softball, Dodgers Dreamteam is a comprehensive sports-based youth development program that uses the power of sport to provide critical resources and services to underserved youth. Registration is available online now through May 31, 2026.
"We are proud to be a longstanding partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, bringing the Dodgers Dreamteam program to well over 5,000 Long Beach youth since 2017," said Mayor Rex Richardson. "More than a sports program, Dodgers Dreamteam offers underserved youth the opportunities to build positive relationships with their peers and mentors and connections to resources that support their mental and physical wellbeing."
Facilitated by PRM's Youth Sports Program, the 2026 Dodgers Dreamteam program will offer T-ball and coach pitch for ages 5 to 8 and baseball and fastpitch softball for youth ages 9 o 18. PRM anticipates offering 89 teams across 23 parks throughout the city, ensuring equitable access opportunities for youth at participating sites.
The 2026 Dodgers Dreamteam program divisions and age groups for Long Beach are listed below. Programs will run from June through August. Space is limited and practice days and times will vary for all programs:
Registration is available online now through May 31. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis; some sites fill quickly, so parents and caregivers are encouraged to register early. Those without computer or smartphone access may visit any open public computer lab at a Long Beach Public Library location to access the online registration.
Dodgers Dreamteam players will receive uniforms for a required $15 fee as well as sports and protective equipment. Players will also have the opportunity to participate in other free programs and events geared to help boost their social and emotional skills. Participants will also have access to mentorship and critical wraparound services to connect youth to basic necessities that promote healthier life outcomes. T Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dodgers Dreamteam is made available through a $50,430 grant by the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. PRM has applied for and been awarded this grant from LADF since 2017. To date, the program has positively impacted over 5,000 Long Beach youth ages of 5 to 18, including over 1,300 players during the 2025 program.
Offering the Dodgers Dreamteam program supports PRM's Parks Make Long Beach Strategic Plan by offering meaningful recreational programming and events and reducing barriers to enrollment for low-income youth.
