Bicyclist Injured in Crash in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood

A bicyclist was struck by a Trimet Lift Bus in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood and traffic officers are investigating.

On Monday, September 21, 2026, at 4:27 p.m., Portland Fire & Rescue and Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to a crash in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood. The crash involved a Trimet Lift Bus and a bicyclist in the 4300 block of Southeast 136th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the bicyclist suffering from life threatening injuries. The adult male was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
The Trimet driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Portland Police Traffic Division is responding. Southeast 136th Avenue is closed in both directions between Southeast Center Street and Southeast Cora Street during the investigation.
