Man Charged with Home Invasion, Domestic Battery

November 10, 2025, Peoria, IL - Today, Andre D. Johnson, 41, was charged with Home Invasion and Domestic Battery after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home over the weekend and attacking her. During his detention hearing, the State's Petition to Detain was granted, meaning Johnson will remain in custody until his trial.

On November 9, 2025, around 6 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of N. Orange Street in the West Bluff for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, a female witness told officers a man had hit her and was inside the house, attacking her sister.

Officers heard yelling inside, rushed in, and saw Johnson on top of a woman. Officers pulled him off her and took him into custody. The victim identified that Johnson was her ex-boyfriend and reported that he had ripped an air conditioning unit out of the window, crawled in, and started to hit her. Officers observed injuries to the victim.
