WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Representative Jeff Crank (CO-05) voted in favor of H.R. 2616, the Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act.
The Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act ensures parental consent remains at the forefront of our children's lives by prohibiting federally funded elementary or middle schools from socially transitioning a child-such as changing their name, pronouns, or bathroom access-without parental approval. The bill also blocks federal funding from supporting gender ideology teachings in K-12 classrooms.
When parents are directly involved in their children's education, students thrive in both the classroom and beyond. However, radical Democrat ideology has flipped our educational system upside-down by going around parental consent and encouraging our nation's children to transition to the opposite gender.
"The Biden-Harris administration pushed schools to promote radical Democrat gender ideology in America's classrooms, which kept parents in the dark regarding their children's upbringing," said Rep. Crank. "Over the past year, President Trump has taken historic steps to undo these radical policies in our classrooms and protect parental rights and eliminate the promotion of gender ideology in K-12 schools.
"By passing the Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act, Republicans are fighting for common-sense values and putting parents back in charge of their children's decisions, ensuring that parental rights are protected and respected in schools."
