Third-party study reveals Samsara is the most trusted brand in fleet management technology

The 2025 Comparison of Fleet Management Technology Providers was conducted by market research firm Endeavor Business Intelligence in partnership with FleetOwner and Fleet Maintenance. The survey, commissioned by Samsara, gathered insights from more than 500 U.S. fleet professionals, examining the top challenges they face today, what they value most in technology, and how different fleet management technology providers compare.

The third-party study found that fleet management professionals overwhelmingly prefer Samsara over other providers like Geotab, Motive, and Lytx, revealing:

• Samsara is No. 1 in overall satisfaction: More than four out of five fleet professionals who currently use or have used Samsara are satisfied or very satisfied (84%), compared to lower scores for Geotab (76%), Motive (70%), and Lytx (68%).

• Samsara is No. 1 in customer support and service: 85% of respondents rated support and service as "extremely or very important," making it the single most crucial factor in their purchasing decisions. When asked about their satisfaction with technology providers in this area, respondents rated Samsara highest.

• Customers strongly recommend Samsara: 90% of current users said they are likely to recommend Samsara to a colleague.

• Samsara is the most widely recognized brand: Samsara ranked No. 1 in both top-of-mind brand awareness and overall brand awareness, making it the most widely recognized brand in the study.

Head-to-head comparison: Why fleet management professionals are more satisfied with Samsara

The survey asked fleet management professionals what matters most when choosing a technology provider. Customer support and service ranked at the top, with 85% of respondents saying it is extremely or very important, closely followed by a range of other AI technology features including asset tracking, a quality driver app, safety scoring and coaching, predictive maintenance capabilities, and in-cab AI safety alerts.
