WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Steve Daines and Tim Sheehy announced that their resolution in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Little Bighorn near Crow Agency, Montana, passed the U.S. Senate last night.
"The Battle of Little Bighorn is one of the most significant battles in Montana's history. I'm honored to pass this resolution to commemorate its 150th anniversary and honor all the soldiers, scouts, civilians, and warriors who died at the battle. It's essential that we continue to share the stories of those who sacrificed and fought selflessly, and made a lasting impact on our nation's history," said Daines.
"The Battle of Little Bighorn remains one of the most significant and studied events in our nation's history, and 150 years later, its legacy continues to shape our understanding of the American West. As we commemorate this anniversary, we honor the memory of all those who fought and lost their lives on this ground, while reflecting on the sacrifices, lessons, and shared history that connect us. By preserving and remembering this important chapter of our past, we ensure future generations understand its lasting impact on Montana and the United States," said Sheehy.
