Chester-Hadlyme Ferry Service Temporarily Suspended Due to Vessel Repairs

9/08/2026

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is advising customers that the Chester-Hadlyme ferry service is temporarily suspended due to necessary repairs to the ferry vessel.

The vessel has been temporarily removed from service pending required drydock maintenance and seal replacement at the shipyard. CTDOT anticipates that service could be suspended until mid-September 2026, though the exact duration remains subject to change based on the repair schedule.

Customers are encouraged to plan accordingly and check CTroads.org for real-time ferry service updates and alerts. The Rocky Hill-Glastonbury ferry service is not impacted.
