Ramp, Lane Closures Scheduled Nightly on Northbound, Southbound US-101 for Capital Preventive Maintenance Project in Marin County

Schedule: Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2

Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to continue its Capital Preventive Maintenance project along Northbound and Southbound US-101 from Wornum Drive to Corte Madera Creek.

The area covers San Rafael, Larkspur and Corte Madera.

Various lanes will be closed from Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2. Northbound US-101 closures are scheduled from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and southbound closures are from from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next mornings.

The Manuel T. Freitas on-ramp on Southbound US-101 is scheduled to be closed on Sunday, June 28 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next mornings.

The Southbound US-101 on-ramp from Lucky Drive is scheduled to be closed on Monday, June 29 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next mornings.

All work is dependent on weather.

Crews will be improving the metal beam guardrail within the project limits during this stage of construction.

Detour for US-101 on-ramp from Freitas Parkway

  • Head West on Freitas Parkway
  • Turn right on Las Gallinas Avenue
  • Turn right onto Lucas Valley Road
  • Turn right to merge onto Southbound US-101

Detour for Lucky Drive on-ramp

  • Continue on Tamal Vista Boulevard
  • Turn left onto Fifer Avenue
  • Turn left onto Lucky Drive
  • Turn right onto Doherty Drive
  • Turn left onto Magnolia Avenue
  • Turn left onto Redwood Avenue
  • Continue onto Tamalpais Drive
  • Use the right lane to merge onto Northbound US-101 and head southeast on Fifer Avenue

This project covers approximately 7.30 miles, totaling 54.2 lane miles of roadway improvements.

The target completion of the project is summer of 2027.

Pavement rehabilitation is a roadway maintenance effort focused on extending the service life of existing pavement and delaying the need for more extensive rehabilitation or full reconstruction. This type of work is not intended to significantly increase or restore the pavement's structural integrity.
