DeLauro Statement on Ukraine Support Act

Today, US Representative Rosa DeLauro issued a statement following her vote to pass the Ukraine Support Act, which would authorize additional loans to Ukraine and NATO allies:

"I was proud to vote for this bipartisan effort to stand with Ukraine and impose tough sanctions on Russia, which I have advocated for since the beginning of this conflict. We should never have needed to resort to a discharge petition, but this is a clear bipartisan show of support for our ally. I have always stood with the people of Ukraine as they have bravely resisted Putin's invasion, and I will continue to support providing Ukraine with the aid they need to defend their democracy and rebuild their country. As the leader of the free world, the United States Congress must come together to support our ally."

The bill passed by a 226-195 vote, with 18 Republicans voting in favor.
