CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The Wyoming Supreme Court will hold oral arguments on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the Historic Supreme Court Chamber of the Wyoming State Capitol as part of the Wyoming Semiquincentennial celebration, commemorating 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
The Court will hear four cases throughout the day, beginning at 9 a.m., with additional arguments scheduled at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
At noon, Mary Guthrie with the Cheyenne League of Women Voters will deliver a special presentation on historic Wyoming judges and lawyers, offering an insightful look at the state's judicial legacy.
"The Semiquincentennial offers a moment to celebrate not only our nation's founding but also the continued work of courts in preserving the rule of law," said Justice Kari Gray, who serves on the Wyoming Semiquincentennial Planning Task Force. "By convening court in this chamber, we pay homage to Wyoming's judicial heritage-and provide the public with a sense of its historic and ongoing significance, and the importance of their participation."
The Historic Supreme Court Room in the Wyoming State Capitol served as the location for the Constitutional Convention in 1889 as Wyoming sought statehood.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Additional details, including case information and a live audio broadcast link, are available on the Wyoming Judicial Branch website.
