Rep. Angela Moore to Begin ‘Honors Tour’ for 2026 High School Valedictorians and Salutatorians

ATLANTA - State Representative Angela Moore (D-Stonecrest), who represents House District 91, recently announced the launch of her 2026 "Honors Tour," an initiative to recognize the valedictorians and salutatorians of the high school class of 2026 across her district.

"A proper, quality education for young adults in this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly," said Rep. Moore. "Earning exemplary grades in the most challenging academic courses, while maintaining a substantial extracurricular schedule, deserves to be placed in Georgia's hall of records. These students are not only academic achievers but also demonstrate a commitment to leadership in the community. As a member of the House Higher Education Committee, I am committed to promoting education and supporting our state's young people on their educational career path."

Rep. Moore highlighted that this year's recipients hail from Arabia Mountain High School, Martin Luther King Jr. High School, Southwest DeKalb High School, Rockdale County High School, Peachtree Academy-Covington, Heritage High School and the Rockdale Magnet School for Science & Technology, noting that several of these schools have two valedictorians and two salutatorians-an achievement she emphasized the community should be proud of.

Rep. Moore will tour the district to honor and recognize these recipients over the next month. Resolutions recognizing these honorees were also adopted by the Georgia House of Representatives during the 2026 legislative session.
