Denver and Arapahoe Counties - The Colorado Department of Transportation and prime contractor Chatos Concrete LLC, will begin an ADA sidewalk and curb ramp improvement project on April 6 along Colorado Highway 83 (Parker Road). Work will take place at over 25 intersection locations between East Florida and East Quincy Avenue, Mile Points 68.8 to 74. The project is expected to be completed by July 2026.
Work will consist of removing and replacing concrete sidewalks and curb ramps at intersections throughout the project corridor, focusing on over 100 ramps that require upgrades to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Additional operations will include minor signage improvements, striping work, and push button enhancements.
The $1.6 million project is expected to provide safer, more accessible travel paths for multimodal users who walk, roll, and stroll through the area. Upgrading pedestrian infrastructure helps to reduce vehicle miles traveled, easing congestion and improving the environmental and economic vitality of the regions where they're located.
